Metal

I used a piece of metal vent and lit it with a mini mole shining on the white wall with a blue gel on half of it. Image size is 1:1. ISO 400 f/32 15 second exposure. D100, 105mm lens with extension.
Set up below:

Macro Glass

This flower vase was lit with a mini mole facing the wall with an orange gel on it. It is 1:1. ISO 400 f/32 25 second exposure. I used a D100 with 105mm lens with extension.

Macro Ratios

I thought it would be interesting to see the ratios side by side. 1:1 is life size representation on the film plane, 1:2 is half life size, etc. I used the Canon 5D macro kit and a hot light. The lens has marks for each ratio, so I just set it and moved out until the orange became in focus. Now I would like to go beyond 1:1.

Apples

Some more macro. I used the Canon 5D macro kit and just some hot lights. This image is 1:1. ISO 400, f/8 @ 1/30th. I like this composition because of the background colors and I didn't notice the thing on the stem until later...and I ate that apple, eww.

Set.

Cropped Ice

I just cropped the image below to show the shapes in the ice. I just think it looks cool.

Macro Ice

Some macro ice from this morning. These are 1:1 but I really would like to use the bellows and get even further. Used Nikon D200, 55mm macro lens with extension ring. f/8 at 1/60th ISO 100. SB800 flash on SC-17 cord.

Macro Mishaps

So macro is a little challenging, especially with focus placement. You don't get a lot of depth of field and if you move just a little, then its just off. I shot these this morning in the rain. I used a D200, 55mm macro lens and an extender ring, as well as SB800 flash on SC-17 cord all while holding an umbrella to keep it all dry. ISO 100 f/8 at 1/60th. I left it at f8 because I could still see some to focus and I ran out of hands to change it up.

How many moms does it take...

In the middle of opening presents at Christmas, my nephew Jaxon needed an 'oil change' as my dad calls it. Apparently it was a two man -woman- job. Canon EOS Rebel XT and 550 flash on cord.

Santa Jordan

My awesome niece Jordan played Santa Christmas morning. I took several random snapshots using my Canon EOS Rebel XT and a normal lens. I also had the Canon 550 flash on a cord and available light.
